#Dadpe Pohe# Lavun Pohe# Hathphodniche Pohe

Dadpe Pohe- A traditional breakfast item in every Maharashtrian house. If you ever visit Maharashtra, then do try out this dish instead of the regular Kande Pohe. I am sure you would definitely like it. So let's move on to how this dish is prepared.

Ingredients - serves 4-5 persons

Thin Rice flakes ( Patal Pohe) (4 bowls)
Finely chopped Onion (1-2)
Grated Coconut (half bowl)
Finely chopped Tomatoes (1-2)
Groundnut powder - half bowl
1 Lemon - sqeeze and take juice of it
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt to taste
Oil (4-5 table spoon) if it becomes more than that its fine, but it should not be less than this.
Mustard
Asafoetida
Turmeric powder
Curry leaves
Green chilies (2-3) if the chilies are not that spicy then you can have 4-5 quantity.

Recipe

Take 4 bowls thin rice flakes. Since it is called Dadpe Pohe - Dadpe means getting sunk, you have to soak these pohe into Coconut water for some time. If you do not have coconut water to soak the rice flakes, then also it is fine we can put a lot of grated coconut and tomatoes so that the rice flakes can become wet and it can get its taste. Add grated coconut, chopped onions and tomatoes, groundnut powder, lemon juice, sugar and salt.

Now in a small kadhai, heat 4-5 tbs. oil add mustard, asafoetida, turmeric powder, currly leaves &  green chilies. Pour this tampered on to the rice flakes mixture. Now mix the mixture with your hands very well. while mixing apply some pressure, so that the oil and wetness is spread across the rice flakes and you can get an even flavour all over. keep it aside for 10 15 mins so that sugar all the other ingredients get properly dissolved in it. After 10 minutes enjoy your breakfast and try to eat it with hand instead of a spoon to enhance its taste.
