   गुरुपुर्णिमा = गुरु + पुर्णिमा Gurupurnima is celebrated in India by Hindu's on the full moon day (purnima) of Ashad month as per hindu calendar. This day is considered as a festival, where people worship their Guru (preacher/priest/saint) who direct them on their religious paths. Earlier i.e. during the era of Mahabharat and Ramayan, we have studied that there was a Guru-Shishya Parampara गुरु-शिष्य परंपरा that used to be followed, wherein the shishyas (students) used to stay with guru and get all the education needed.
